Pricing
Per thing, not per month.
Three bands. Clear ranges. No discovery call. No long-term lock-in. If a job is bigger than the band, we tell you upfront — not after.
How much does Tend the Tech cost?
Tend the Tech prices per project, not per month. Quick fixes (review replies, GBP posts, broken links) run $50–$150. Most projects (new landing pages, GBP overhauls, schema fixes, custom agents) run $300–$1,500. Multi-week builds (full website rebuilds, integration stacks, agent suites) run $2,500–$10,000. There is no monthly retainer, no subscription, and no required discovery call.

Why not a $5,000/month retainer?
Most agencies pitch a flat monthly fee with no fixed deliverable. After six months you've spent $30,000 and you can't say what you got. The full math is in why we don't do retainers. The short version:
✗ Them: $5k/mo retainer, no clear deliverable
✓ Us: Per-thing pricing, named work, fixed price
✗ Them: Locked into 12-month contract
✓ Us: No contract for one-off jobs; short plain-English SOW for bigger work
✗ Them: Monthly "strategy report" that says nothing
✓ Us: One-line "done" text with a link to the change
✗ Them: Mandatory "discovery call" before quotes
✓ Us: First text is free; quote follows by text
✗ Them: Account manager between you and the work
✓ Us: You text the operator. The operator does the work.

Why not charge per hour?
+
Because hourly creates the wrong incentives. We'd be motivated to take longer; you'd be motivated to micromanage. Per-thing pricing means we both want the same thing: the job done well, fast.
What if a job runs over?
+
On us. We quoted it, we own the time. If we genuinely missed scope (you asked for X, we found out it required Y), we'll tell you upfront and ask if you want to expand, not bill you for it later.
Do you offer monthly tending?
+
Yes, but it's still per-thing. Some owners want us to check in monthly and just handle whatever needs handling (new reviews, fresh photos, GBP posts, small fixes). We do that — and bill for the work that actually happens, not a fixed retainer.
How do you handle payment?
+
Invoice via email after the work is done (Quick tend jobs) or 50% upfront / 50% on completion (Real work, Bigger build). Pay via card, ACH, or check. No subscription billing. No auto-charge.
Do you do free quotes?
+
First text is free — we'll tell you if it's the kind of thing we do and roughly what it'd cost. Detailed quotes for Bigger build projects sometimes require a paid scoping pass ($300–$500, applied to the project if you hire us). We're upfront about that.
Are there discounts?
+
Sometimes. Long-running tend arrangements get a small "we know your stack" discount that emerges naturally because we're faster on familiar work. Multi-job bundles can come down. Just ask.
