What we don't do (on purpose).
Honest disclosure beats over-promise. Here's what we don't take on for websites — usually because someone else does it better, or it'd dilute what we're good at.
- ✗ E-commerce at scale (Shopify is the right tool — we'll set it up but won't compete with it)
- ✗ Highly custom web apps (SaaS-style with auth + database) — different specialty
- ✗ Pure graphic design / illustration
- ✗ Email-blast campaigns / marketing automation platforms (Mailchimp / Klaviyo) — we'll integrate but won't be your email marketer
A real example.
Beacon Auto Care (San Mateo, CA) needed a complete site rebuild after a series of contractor handoffs left them with a slow, schema-less site that wasn't ranking. We built ~50 pages on Astro + Tailwind: service spokes, hub pages, an FAQ system, full JSON-LD coverage (LocalBusiness, AutoRepair, Service, FAQPage), and a review carousel pulling from a single source of truth.
Result: Core Web Vitals green across the board, full schema coverage, real organic traffic growth, and a site the owner doesn't have to think about. We still tend it. He still doesn't think about it.

I have a website already. Do you replace it or tend it?

Either. If your current site works, we tend it — speed it up, fix SEO, add new pages, swap content, keep it current. If it's beyond saving (built on something brittle, abandoned by the original developer, full of broken stuff), we rebuild it. We tell you straight which one applies.
What stack do you build new sites on?

Astro + Tailwind, hosted on Netlify or Cloudflare Pages. Static-first (fast, secure, cheap). Headless content where you need it. We've shipped a few sites on this stack and they perform well on Core Web Vitals out of the box.
Can I edit the site myself after?

Yes — we can wire up a simple admin if that's what you want (Sanity, Netlify CMS, or just Markdown files). Most owners DON'T want to edit it themselves and prefer to text us "can you change X" — which is what tending is.
What does a new landing page cost?

Usually $300–$1,500 depending on length, design complexity, and how much content we're writing vs. you're providing. Speed/SEO fixes on existing pages start around $150. See pricing for full bands.
Do you handle hosting?

We set up hosting on platforms with reasonable free tiers (Netlify, Cloudflare Pages) and you own the account. We don't markup hosting or hold the domain hostage. If we leave, you keep everything.
What about WordPress?

We don't build new sites on WordPress (the maintenance burden eats the savings). But we'll tend an existing WordPress site — security updates, content edits, performance fixes — if you want to stay on it. We'll tell you honestly when migrating is worth it and when it's not.
Do you do logo / branding work?

Light touch only. Wordmarks, color picks, basic identity work for the website itself — yes. Full brand identity systems with style guides — no, that's a different specialty and we'll point you at someone who does it well.
